Gary attended William Patterson College in Wayne N.J. as a Jazz Performance Major under the instruction of Rufus Reid, Barry Harris, Slide Hampton, Dave Samuels, Mel Lewis and more. Other private instructors include Lyle Atkinson, and (Drummer) Kenwood Dennard.

Diversity has been his strong suit for many years, from laying down tracks for Naughty by Nature’s, ‘Hip Hop Hurray' Cd, to working with Don Harper and the New Jersey Mass Choir and performing at the Newport Jazz Festival with the Multicultural Ensemble. Other artist he has worked for includes: Cissy and Whitney Houston, Candi Staton, Freda Payne, Scherrie Payne (of the Supremes), Guitarist John Pizzarelli, Gary U.S. Bonds, Vibraphonist/ Percussionist Emil Richards & the Contra Band, Guitarist Johnny Hiland and more. Gary is currently teaching (online) at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media where he has been a part of the faculty since 1996.

This is the result of the high level of commitment and musicianship that Gary has attained and maintains in many genres of music throughout his career.
